Between 750,000 and 800,000 Canadian tourists visit the Dominican Republic each year, 20% of all visitors.
Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia revealed this figure during a meeting with the Canadian Foreign Relations Minister, Diane Ablonczy, who stressed the interest of her country in investing in the DR tourism sector. Ablonczy said a strategic alliance was in the works between the two nations to continue increasing the tourist flow of Canadians to this country.
